Don’t remove all the Milkweed!
Instead, control it by planting milkweed in flower pots or garden beds. Why?? It is the only place Monarch butterflies lay their eggs.
“Monarchs cannot survive without milkweed; their caterpillars only eat milkweed plants (Asclepias spp.), and monarch butterflies need milkweed to lay their eggs. With shifting land management practices, we have lost much milkweed from the landscape.”- http://www.monarchjointventure.org/get-involved/create-habitat-for-monarchs/
