North Star Mining Company & the North Star House

The North Star Mine was the second largest producer of gold during California’s gold rush, the North Star House was the superintendents house designed by Julia Morgan “before” she designed the main building of the Hearst Castle in San Simeon, Ca.

Almost completely lost to vandalism in recent times, now owned and operated by the North Star Historic Conservancy who rely on donations and volunteer help. We recently rented the building for our Son’s wedding rehearsal party and it was fabulous! Go to the link and if you are able to help with a donation or some volunteer work you will be rewarded by being a part of California’s history.
